Hello!

Thank you for visiting the website of Haru the Sewing Cat.

My name is Haru, also known as the Sewing Cat, and I live in Hawaii.

In fact, among those who know me through Kendo, I am sometimes called the “Kendo Cat.”

I began both sewing and kendo about 15 years ago, around the same time.

At first glance, they may seem like completely different worlds.

However, when I fully immerse myself in either one, my mind becomes quietly focused in a very natural way.

At the same time, both of them gently inspire me with the desire to create something new.

Today, both sewing and kendo feel like companions that quietly walk alongside me in my life.

At Haru the Sewing Cat, I use kimono fabrics I have discovered in Japan,
along with charming and heartwarming patterned textiles that catch my eye,

and together with the sewing machine passed down from my mother-in-law,

I carefully create each piece one by one, starting with shinai bags,

with the hope of sharing items that bring joy to those who receive them.

I value the beauty of the fabrics and the warmth of handmade work.

With that in mind, I hope to continue sharing my creations with you.
